New for 2017 a Guided Tour of Ireland with Susan Byron

Irish author of the best selling Treasure Ireland series of Ireland Travel Guides on for more details please go to http//www.irelands-hidden-gems.com/tour-Ireland.html.

This eBook digs a little deeper into what the Irish are really about and what it is that is so unique about this tiny island Nation of Ireland that millions around the world claim heritage to and a connection with? Ireland is divided into four provinces, Leinster, Munster, Connacht and Ulster. As you can imagine, each has its own distinctive history, cultural characteristics and landscapes and in some cases, even their own dialect and /or accent. Loyalty to the provinces runs deep, which you will quickly realise if you happen to be in Dublin on an All-Ireland final day in September. We have been known to paint cars, houses and yes, even dye sheep in our county colours, such is the fever pitch on the day. But county rivalry aside, we all share the same national pride in our country, whether we are lucky enough to live here full time or have emigrated to the far flung corners of the world.

Written by Irish travel writer/photographer Susan Byron author of the independent travel website www.irelands-hidden-gems.com the recommendations here are based on 8 years of independent research and a lifetime’s experience as an Irish citizen. This fourth edition includes the best Places to See on the Wild Atlantic Way, a new 2500 km driving route along the West coast of Ireland. I have travelled extensively along this route over the last couple of years from the top, Malin Head in Donegal, to the bottom, Mizen Head in West Cork and beyond, to Kinsale and Cork City. With further forays into East Cork, Yougal and along the Copper Coast to Waterford, founded by the Vikings and on into the sunny South East of Wexford. There are also quite a few detours inland to places like the Fermanagh Lakelands, a true hidden gem, not even the Irish know about. And the Magical Midlands, Kilkenny and Westmeath with lots of island hopping as well, from a sublime day out on the Great Blaskets to a spiritual tour of Inish Cealtra (Holy Island) on Lough Derg and walking in the (385 million year old) footsteps of the dinosaurs on Valentia Island in County Kerry.

Every little corner of Ireland has a special story to tell and if you take the time and trouble to seek out just some of the places in this eBook, trust me, you will have a much more exciting and authentic experience of Ireland than the vast majority of tourists, who rush about Ireland ticking the Big Name Boxes, but only ever scratching the surface.

As an added bonus if you buy any of my eBooks and are prepared to write me an (honest) review (25 words will do) I will send you a free Ready Made Itinerary of your choice worth $99. Just email me a link to the review that you have posted on and let me know which package you would prefer, either the Classic package or the Bed and Breakfast version and I will send it you by return.

Ireland Hidden Gems Places To See 2016 Treasure Ireland Travel Guide Series Book 3 eBook Susan Byron

I was reading this on my laptop and loved the early link to an external Google map where the author's put all the Hidden Gems listed in her book. You can zoom in on any of them, see a photo, get directions to any of them - neat! I realise this won't work when I switch to my Kindle, but if you're using a laptop, tablet or smartphone with a web connection, it's a great extra feature.

The book also includes links to external websites - including the author's own Ireland's Hidden Gems website - where you get fuller descriptions of some of the attractions. There are also lots of drop-dead gorgeous colour photos, and these alone would be enough to tempt you to go to Ireland, if you weren't planning to already.

The book divides Ireland up into its four counties. Beginning with Leinster, the book starts with the top ten attractions in Dublin. They're hardly Hidden Gems, but having been to Dublin a few times before I know she's chosen the best of its attractions.

Beyond Dublin, though, the guide does include some of Ireland's lesser-known sites, and with lots of history and fun writing which let you know the author really has seen and done all these things. Her enthusiasm comes over, and you get a real good sense of what it's like to see and do the things she's described.

The book doesn't have a lot of practical information, such as prices and opening hours, and for those you really need a web connection or to carry a bigger print guidebook with you, like one from Lonely Planet or Rough Guides. It does have some hotel, restaurant, bar, excursion and shopping recommendations, and does what a print guide can't do - gives you links to send you direct to the website to get all the up-to-date practical info you need.

Where I think the guide is really good is as a planning tool, for your vacation in Ireland. No holiday will be long enough to include everything that Ireland has to offer, but you can use this guide to help plan your trip and decide which of the very many attractions listed you most want to see. And at the ridiculously cheap price, it's a bargain.

Ireland Hidden Gems Places To See 2016 Treasure Ireland Travel Guide Series Book 3 eBook Susan Byron Reviews

What i've noticed about Susan's books, is that they beyond the regular tourist track. This book is no different. It digs deep...really deep into areas of which a lot of tourists do not explore. Not to give away anything, its like having Susan stand next to you giving you a personal "grande tour". So kudos for another well written book!
Loved the personal touch. If you are without an Internet connection, much of the best material (in the form of external links) is lost. Found it good for planning, but less useful to head interesting the countryside... It was definitely worth the read.
Susan's Ireland's Hidden Gems - Places To See is chock full of amazing information. What I really love about book layout is how you can easily choose either a Quick Hit/Top 10 for each area, or really go more into depth. With the latter, Susan does a great job with stories, local tales and myths as well as her own personal insights and recommendations. The book already has plenty of information, but there are specific links to her website for even more in depth descriptions and tips. For my travel style, it's just the right amount of pre-trip reading and on the go "what you need to know" without wasting any time or having to carry a huge book with you. Great job, Susan!
How I wish this guide book had been available when we first visited Ireland three years ago. This year we will be using Susan's books to shape our itinerary. Susan has an engaging writing style and clearly has experienced what she writes about there. The book is interactive with other web sites for additional detail, which makes for a great research tool. Each of Susan's books offers a different focus on things to do, places to see and where to enjoy Irish hospitality. Highly recommend each of them. Another delightful surprise is that Susan makes the offer for readers to email her and she does respond. Thank you Susan for helping folk know how to fully enjoy the land of your birth.
Susan Byron has a great Gem in this Ireland touring book. As we plan our July 2013 trop we are going to certainly include many of the gems revealed here in Ireland's Hidden Gems book. this little ebook is well writen, like Susan is sharing her tips over a good cup of coffe. I liked the amount of content, great photos, and just enough info to give you a good idea of the Gem, and why it outshines many touristy sights or places to stay. Thank you for other insights such as the "many steps" to get to a Gem, or the Irish history there.

I am planning a week long trip to Ireland in July 2017, and I stumbled across Susan's website and subsequently this book. My girlfriend and I are planning to rent a car in Dublin and road trip around parts of the west coast. After coming up with my own list of possible places to visit (I've never been to Ireland), it was great to be able to read about each place and get some new ideas from a friendly local. Thankfully, Susan points out many less common places as well, which is perfect for when you want to take a break from the big touristy areas. And the google maps link she provides with all of the major areas marked is a nice bonus. Well worth it!
I have already posted 5 star review for Books 1 Ireland's Hidden Gems - Top 10 Insider Tips 2016 Treasure Ireland Travel Guide Series - Book 1 and 2 Ireland's Hidden Gems - Things To Do 2016 Treasure Ireland Travel Guide Series - Book 2. This book takes a little different twist on the first two books presenting top hidden gem choices as Places to See. Like the first two books, there are extensive references back to the author's web site, which in turn have links to external sites. There is a fair amount of overlap with the first two books, but some new information too. I feel the cost of the books is a small price to pay if the information allows the avoidance of just one tourist trap or the discovery of just one hidden gem. The style of this book (and the others) is like having a conversation with a good friend.
