Balloon Boy and the Porcupine Pals Cosmic Dice Volume 2 Mort Gloss Books Reviews
This is the second book I've read by Mort Gloss, the other being the original 'Balloon Boy and the Porcupine Pals'. Both books are enjoyable reads that can be shared with the whole family without concern for inappropriate material-- that alone is worth a star. This was a fun read that I am happy to recommend to others. The original characters are back, with some unexpected twists and turns, many of which end comically. The characters and the overall story continue to develop with space battles, time travel, love stories, and rock and roll.
These are the only two books I could find by this author. If he had others, I would happily read them.
Cosmic Dice picks up right where Antihooligansim leaves off and does not waste any time on idle chitchat. This story moves! It has music. It has mayhem. It has laser-beam battles and space-traveling Cadillacs. It has Earthlings in the Sombrero Galaxy eating fast food tacos through a tube as they do their best to adjust to new cultural expectations, new beauty standards, and a new understanding of their place in the history of the universe and the origins of Beatles music. These things are all connected, and Cosmic Dice will show you how. Trust it. Trust Balloon Boy and his stupid luck. Trust Mort Gloss to continue this adventure in another book. You will have a lot of fun.
Really fun read with some great plot twists (time travel and the Beatles!). Highly recommend this very well written sequel in a wonderfully fun series.
What a fun book! The author has done a great job developing this unique cast of characters. The story moves at a good pace with a good mix of action and dialogue. I highly recommend this book.
Love the story. Would like to see a movie version. Next??
The adventure continues in Cosmic Dice. An intergalactic adventure mixed with down-home humor. All the lovable characters are back with a few new additions that make this book even more exciting than the first. It's a good read and keeps you entertained throughout.
